1. Love Has Found Me (Undone) |
My two cents: I have written songs that seem to come almost instantly, others take days, even months but only one song in my life has taken twenty years to write. 'Love Has Found Me'…is that song and it began as more of a wish than a realization Looking back I can see that most of my life I have longed to be given over utterly, completely, unashamedly, to something, to someone A higher purpose, a good and faithful love. It was in the search for true intimacy that I found you or rather you found me. It was in you that I realized the acceptance of my acceptance… someone worthy of wholly. This love, your love, transformed me. My response was to write songs - love letters. I have heard you say that this life is a battleground. I see now that there are moments in this life that take your breath away, and there are those moments where your breath is taken from you. When I first began writing the song Wholly, I had no way of knowing that the unthinkable would happen. That the song would become a lullaby, that I would sing over my baby boy Reese as I held him not long before he took the last breath that marked the end of his short life here on earth. So many prayers, so much hope... How do you hold your dying child and find peace? What kind of comfort is found in your eyes when they are met by those of a grieving wife and mother searching for understanding, for comfort? Where are the words of hope for those to whom it appears all hope is lost. Where are the visions of angels singing, the promise of true love and a future? How is it possible to find refuge in the midst of deep despair? This is the mystery of love beyond reason …that in the darkest night you are there. Where can I hide from your love, your presence? I sensed your arms around me. It was as if you sang over me "I love you through the peaceful stillness, I love you through the noise, I love you through the sleepless sorrow, I love you through the joy, through the tears faithful through the years." wholly is the only way I know. It was then that I found the words to complete the song Love has Found Me. Twenty years of searching, falling, failing, turning, trusting, of forgiveness, redemption, and restoration. Even in the pain, and loss it all led me to one place…to you. The song was finished… I was undone. "You have opened my eyes to see how beautiful you truly are, overtaken by waves of grace, your lovely face the breadth of your outstretched arms…I'm undone and I dare not move love has found me I'm undone by the way you prove love has found me." "I can't turn back now, I can't turn back now. I won't turn back now…your love won't let me go." Once I only believed in you, now I know you. Now you have me. I am yours and you are mine. You proved again that you would never leave me or forsake me. Thank you Abba, my Prince of Peace, my Song, my Sacrifice, my Comforter, my friend, my Very Present Help in time of need... my Jesus. These are my two cents - like the widow who gave her all though it seemed like so little. These are my songs, my heart, my life, my all for you…wholly. - Loren I belong to my lover, and his desire is for me (Song 7:10)
